- High flow capabilities/more GPM
- 1 year wear/tear
- 10 year warranty
- Double dip “Key-Lok” process standard
- Reduced friction loss
- Superior heat resistance
- Unmatched kink resistance
- Rugged durability

Hose Assembly:
This hose is made especially for rigorous fire attack services. The outside jacket is woven from ring spun staple polyester yarns over an inner liner consisting of a one-piece extruded through-the-weave nitrile/PVC tube with double dip color or clear coat abrasion resistant key lock process as a standard.
Johnkeans Combat-Ready is made in a conspicuous white with one red and one blue stripe streaming the length of the hose. This drag, kink, and heat resistant hose shall have superior friction loss features. The recommended length requirements are 50 feet and 75 feet.
Warranty: The hose carry a 10 year written warranty, and an addition of 1-year wear/tear warranty.
Inner Hose Properties:
Ultimate Tensile Strength – not below 1200 PSI
Ultimate Elongation – not below 400%
Accelerated Aging Test – shall meet requirements of UL19 for accelerated aging
Adhesion – between reinforcement and liner shall be an average of 20 pounds
Ozone Resistance – shall show no signs of visible cracking of the cover of liner when examined according to ASTM D1149-91 and ASTM D518-86 (R91), Procedure B.
Chemical Resistance – Either contamination by most chemicals or exposure to seawater will have no effect on the long or long short performance of the hose.
Safety Factors:
Abrasion Resistance – A direct relationship to the safe performance of the fire hose. The UL abrasion test most closely resembles the fire ground use of fire hose and as such, is considered of key significance. Hose meeting all of the abrasion resistance safety factors below shall do so without exceeding minimum weights.
UL Abrasion – The hose shall pass a burst examination after 5000 cycles on a reciprocating abrasion tester – as stated in UL Standard 19.
Cold Resistance Safety Factor – Hose shall be capable of safe use down to –50 degrees F. The hose shall have no obvious damage to cover reinforcement or lining when passed through the following cold bending test: A 50 ft. length of dry hose is coiled and placed in a cold box at –50 degrees for 24 hours. The hose shall not show any damage to the reinforcement when passed through hydrostatic acceptance test pressure.
Flashover Resistance Safety Factor – Heat resistance is of the most essential when assessing interior attack hose. This Combat-Ready hose shall meet the safety factors for heat resistance without surpassing the regular fire hose weight. The hose shall be passed through a static pressure of 100 PSI and be able to resist a surface temperature of 1200 degrees F for 30 seconds without bursting.
Water Pick-up Weight – The tendency for a hose to absorb water while in a wet environment can create significant usage issues. When examined against the procedure listed in MIL-H-24606B, the maximum weight gain shall not surpass 3 lbs. per 50 foot length.
Couplings:
Combat Ready hose shall be “doubled ring” with extruded aluminum 6061-T6 USA manufactured couplings. Knurled couplings, 2″ X 2 1/2″ and other custom features shall be made available upon special request.
